The exam can be carried out through pressure tests or in operation during Cooldown, variations of operational conditions, heating and continuous monitoring.

We have and apply procedures which we develop specifically for monitoring and analysis of results of exams by acoustic emission specially in boilers pipes.

These procedures can be applied in small, medium and large boilers, being either fire pipes or water pipes.

The exam by acoustic emission is divided in the following important phases:

  • Planning by Specialised Engineering

Process data search, project, operation, inspection and maintenance background;

Elaboration of test procedure, based on evaluation and studies of searched data, test objectives and applicable standards by specialized engineering;

  • Test Execution

Tests are carried out with equipment and software technologically updated and ultimate generation;

  • Analysis and interpretation of results

Results of tests are interpreted and evaluated according to the objectives defined in procedure, by specialized engineering. The results clearly indicate the places of discontinuities and the non-destructive exams which are more adequate to identification and sizing(they include conventional and non-conventional techniques ) and their  ´significance´. Data are interpreted together and by channel, aligned to application of specific techniques for identification of type of source and its significance.

  • Conclusions and recommendations;

Recommendations are issued in the format of ´scale planned drawings´, having the localization of the regions to be inspected and the techniques of non-destructive testing recommended to each of them. Our technical team assists in identifying the places to be inspected through other techniques in equipment during inspections, when applicable.

  • Reports issue

Reports include all information generated during testing, analysis and conclusions. Positioning of sensors is done in 3D drawings in order to facilitate location and correlation with physical characteristics of the equipment. Active and indicated regions for inspection are mapped in planned drawings in scale.



We use equipment manufactured by ultimate Vallen System company, they are the only equipment pieces certified by  TUV. The analysis of AE data is executed by last revision of specific software.
